NHRDA South East Truckin Nationals storms into South Georgia Motorsports Park!

2014 MBRP Diesel Drag Racing Series

The NHRDA stormed into Valdosta Georgia for the Inaugural South East Truckin Nationals event at South Georgia Motorsports Park. The one problem is that mother nature was also storming in Valdosta with rain all week long but Saturday morning the skies cleared up after a morning shower and from there on out it was all sunshine. The day included MBRP Diesel Drag Racing Series , NHRDA Truck and Tractor Pulls, a burnout contest winner that exploded his tires in the water box, plus a great show n shine and dyno competition. Ryan Milliken
Pro Stock - Champion

In the Pro Stock Truck class Ryan Milliken from Navara, FL has extended his lead in the National points chase adding his 3rd consecutive win driving the G&J Diesel Dirty Max Pro stock truck to the winner circle. The final round was more than exciting and honestly down right scary as Wade Moody vehicle made a hard right at the starting line and then went up on 2 wheels and hit the wall hard. Wade is ok and but the truck will need major rebuild to get back on the on the track. Ryan ran a 9.05et at 147.91mph in the final round but was more happy that Wade was ok than he was about taking the win.

Congrats to Ryan and Team Dirty Max !

Shawn Proctor
Pro Street - Champion

Shawn Proctor was fighting tuning issues all morning during qualifying and when he found out that he would be racing the 3 Time World Champion Philip Palmer he realized they better bring all the Horsepower they had to the finals. Shawn was the 1st one into the lights and as he waited he realized that Palmer was have a hard time lighting his turbos and when the lights came down Shawn blasted his way to victory running a 9.54ET at 142.96MPH

Congrats to Shawn and Ashley Black !

Wade Minter
Super Street - Champion

Wade Minter made the long haul out from Texas with two things on his agenda. 1st was to win the SETN and the second was to capture the National Record he has been chasing since the first event at Bakersfield. Well Wade sort of got both wishes as he easily defeated his competitors in the Super Street class and he ran a 9.41ET at 144.94ET that easily broke the record but he did not back up the run within 1% per NHRDA rules so the record does not stand. With that being said we have no doubt that the record will be his by the end of the year.

Congrats to Wade Minter and his whole team!

Joe Barfield
BD Power Super Diesel - Champion

The Super Diesel final round brought us a Georgia versus Florida battle with Joe Barfield from Pitts ,Georgia against Buck Pugsley from Cocoa, Florida. Joe was the number one qualifier running a 11.91 on the 11.90 index. Joe was deadly consistent all day and when the lights went green in the final round Joe ran a 11.92ET to Bucks 12.08ET and took home his 1st win in the MBRP Diesel Drag Race Series.

Congrats to Joe Barfield !

Logan Gregory
Strictly Diesel Sportsman - Champion

Logan Gregory decided to jump in his truck and drive down from Hickman Tennessee and while driving down he also made up his mind that he was going to join the NHRDA and enter into his truck into the sportsman category. After a quick talk with a NHRDA official Logan had a better understanding on how bracket racing was done including dial times and reaction times. The old saying is sometimes it is better to be lucky than good, well Logan ended up being both as he was consistently cutting good lights and running right on his dial time. Logan got lucky as both he and his competitor Trey Sikes did a double break but Logan won and as you can see in the picture he has a perma grin that probably won't wear off for a couple of days.

Congrats to Logan (Perma-Grin) Gregory!

Joseph Hardy
Super Stock Diesel - Champion

Joseph Hardy from Washington Georgia made a great pull in his 2003 Dodge Ram with a distance of 299.06 and had over 6 feet on the nearest competitor.

Congrats Joseph !

Dan Clark
3.0 Class - Champion

Dan Clark from Dans Diesel Performance was a busy man this weekend as drove all the way down from Illinois and during the day was running his dyno and then at night he entered both the 3.0 Class and the 2.6 Class. Dan won 3.0 class with at pull of 298.44 and he took second place in 2.6 Class with a 308.40 even though it was a long drive Dan took home some pretty good purse money this weekend.

Congrats to Dan and his whole crew at Dans Diesel Performance !

Michael Falconer
2.6 Class - Champion

Michael Falconer has been waiting for 6 years for the NHRDA to return to his stomping grounds for a sled pull and man did Michael have the track figured out as he pulled it out the back door with a distance of 315.06 to capture his 1st win in the 2.6 Class. He also had a great showing in 3.0 class as he took second place with a 275.19 pull.

Congrats to Michael !

Seth Thompson
Burnout Contest - Champion

Seth Thompson is a crazy man as he asked NHRDA officials if we could change the burnout contest rules to allow him to do a burnout until he pops his tires and since he was the only competitor to enter the class we granted his wish and man did he put on a crowd pleaser as he did a 2 1/2 minute burnout and popped both rear tires at the same time.

Bryce Fowler
Show N Shine - Winner

Bryce Fowler from Columbus Georgia showed up in his lifted 2005 Ford F-250 and was the crowd favorite to win the Show N Shine Contest.
