2014 MBRP Diesel Drag Racing Series

22 Mar 2014 Bakersfield, CA - Competitors and spectators traveled from all over the United States & Canada to converge upon Auto Club Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield California to kick off the 10th Annual MBRP Diesel Drag Racing Series.

This non stop action day included Diesel Drag Racing , West Coast Outlaw Pro Mods , Jet Cars , Dyno Competition, Show n Shine and rounded out the day with the NHRDA Sled Pulling Series.

Ryan Milliken
Pro Stock - Champion

In the Pro Stock Truck class Ryan Millican from Navara, FL took the MBRP Dirty Max Pro stock truck to the winners circle with a win over Rick Fletes's unique 1973 Nova.  The final round was unusual when both drivers suffered mechanical failures before the run, however Ryan was able to stage his truck, take the green light, and card his first win of the 2014 season.

Congrats to Ryan and Team Dirty Max !

Jarid "The Iron Man" Vollmer
Pro Street - Champion

Jarid Vollmer the 2 time National Pro Street Champion over came the winter blues as the Bully Dog sponsored 2007 Dodge had a new setup and found some transmission issues due to changes made during the off season but still managed to win with a 10.179et at 139.63mph to take the 1st win of the season and start his quest for a 3rd National Championship.

Congrats to Jarid and Team Bully Dog !

Wade Minter
Super Street - Champion

Super Street's Wade Minter laid down a blistering 9.370 at 145.52 mph to take the win over Ryan Millican's 10.391.  Wade's ET was almost three tenths quicker than the current national record in the category, but he did not have a run quick enough to serve as a back up to set the mark as a new national record. Wade did vow that he will set new record on April 12th in his home state of Texas and back it up, so watch out Super Street competitors

Congrats to Wade  and Team Minter!

Ryan Dubois
Super Diesel - Champion

The Super Diesel final round had the employee "Ryan" against his Boss (Pat) to see who take home the bragging rights back to Idaho.  Ryan won the battle both at the tree and the finish line and now has his sights set on getting his 1st National Championship because in 2013 he missed it by 40 points

Congrats to Ryan  and team Big Twin Diesel!

Jim Calhoun
Sportsman - Champion

Sportsman is one of the most competitive classes in the NHRDA and we saw that Mr. Jim Calhoun had come out of retirement and was sitting in our staging lanes we gave fair warning to all the drivers during our pre -race meeting that Jim Calhoun has won more NHRDA events than any competitor in our History.  We all soon realized that Jim was back as he cut through the field round after round then took out his good friend Steve Price in the finals for his 1st win of the year.

Congrats to Jim Calhoun and Great White Racing!

Garrett Parlette
2.6 Class - Champion

Garrett made the long drive down from Washington State to see how all the modifications he did over the winter would match up to the other competitors at the Spring Diesel Nationals.

Well Garrett we are pretty sure you got it figured out over the winter as he pulled 315.4 distance and put 26 feet between him and the 2nd place competitor Richard Weylin.

Congrats to Garrett and Team DX2 !
